Honestly, it's been awhile since I've discovered an indie band that I found ever so infectious. On the 7th of May, The Neighbourhood released their debut EP, I'm Sorry featuring 5 beautiful mellow tracks. I would say their debut definitely came out as a success. They certainly had me at Sweater Weather.
UPDATE: The Mousa Team was lucky enough to have an interview with the band's bassist, Mikey Margott, penciled in to the band's busy schedule. Here's what they have to say:

UPDATE: The Mousa Team was lucky enough to have an interview with the band's bassist, Mikey Margott, penciled in to the band's busy schedule. Here's what they have to say:
MMB: You guys are a relatively new band. Let's start off with, who are The Neighbourhood? How did you come bouts creating a band?
Mikey: The band was created simply because we are really close friends who all play instruments and we wanted to make music together.
MMB: Tell us more about your latest EP. Any inspirations behind it?
Mikey: Our EP "I'm Sorry..." does not necessarily have inspirations behind it. We knew what we wanted and how to make that happen, a rad hip-hop vibe with a great melody over it.
MMB: Who would you say your musical influences are?
Mikey: Gorillaz. They are as good as it gets, their tones and vibe are just way too good.
MMB: How does it feel to get this much attention from fans all over the world?
Mikey: It truly is amazing! We love to see how much we have affected people, and hopefully that feeling never goes away.
MMB: What are your future plans?
Mikey: We want to be biggest band the world has seen in a long time. We have no intentions of being a "cool" indie band. Hopefully you'll be seeing us at The Grammys soon.
MMB: Anything you want to say to your fans here in the Philippines?
Mikey: Thanks for the love and support! We can't wait to have a tour through the Philippines in the near future!
